ABOUT ME
I'm Aakanksha Kulkarni, a Senior UX Designer and a Product Manager.
With a background in filmmaking and a passion for User Experience design. I have a keen eye for visual aesthetics, attention to detail, and a focus on creating functional, user-friendly designs. I’m dedicated to crafting intuitive, customer-centric solutions that not only look great but also enhance the user experience. I continuously seek to learn and apply new insights, turning them into innovative ideas and concepts.
Being a Maharashtrian, born & brought up in Kolkata, India, I bring a blend of diverse experiences and a passion for design. I graduated from MIT Institute of Design, Pune in 2018 with a focus on product design and a possession of a comprehensive understanding of design principles, technical skills, and the intricate balance between aesthetics and functionality.
After graduating, I spent three and a half years as an assistant director in filmmaking, where I refined my skills in composition, lighting, colour theory, storytelling, and effective communication. This experience also strengthened my abilities in organisation, teamwork, and leadership. Driven by a passion for digital product design, I shifted careers during the pandemic. In 2021, I focused on learning UX and UI design through courses from the Interaction Design Foundation, building a strong portfolio. Since then, I’ve gained experience through freelancing, a four-month internship at HumanX, & my previous role at ZEUX Innovation as a Senior UX and Visual Designer, and my current venture as a Product Manager & Senior UX Designer at Taxsure.ai. My work spans across various domains, including B2B SaaS, fin-tech, media, automotive, business, ed-tech, prop-tech, and gamification. My consultancy experience has also enhanced my people & project management skills, enabling me to lead effectively in both junior and leadership roles.
